How Do Clear Aligners Work?

At your initial consultation, Dr Daniela will collect information and advise you on the suitable treatment options.

If clear aligners are an option, we will use an intraoral scanner to obtain a 3-D scan of your teeth. Dr Daniela will design your new smile using sophisticated software and request that either Invisalign® or Spark® produce your aligners.

Once your first set of clear aligners arrive, some of your teeth will receive small attachments of resin resembling the colour of your teeth. Each attachment is specifically designed to facilitate tooth movement and improve the grip of the aligner around your teeth. Dr Daniela will remove these attachments at the end of the treatment.

For the best results, clear aligners need to be worn at least 20–22 hours a day and changed as instructed. We will monitor your treatment periodically and continue providing aligners as needed to straighten your teeth.

You can easily remove your aligners to brush and floss your teeth, making oral hygiene simple and effective and promoting healthy gums.

Also, aligners are smooth, fit snugly, and are more comfortable to wear than brackets and wires. Since aligners are clear and snug-fitting, they are essentially invisible, or you can remove them to attend a special occasion.
